What's on the line

Three prizes that change a dancer’s season, each awarded to one dancer, on top of the medals and championship titles.

£250 Athlete Development Scholarship

Awarded to one dancer, for outstanding commitment, dedication and potential across the season. The £250 goes to their affiliated club to fund coaching, training or equipment.

A full season of entries, waived

One dancer has every RTA competition entry fee for the 2027 season covered, so they can compete all year without the cost.

A wristband season pass

One dancer and one family member get a wristband for every RTA event of the 2027 season, so they walk straight in all year.

09Questions

Frequently asked

Everything parents and troupe leaders ask us before the day.

Yes. Every person entering the venue needs a wristband, dancers and spectators alike. Getting yours in advance is cheaper and skips the queue on the day.

Your age group is your age in whole years as at 1 January of the competition year, so it is fixed for the whole season. Solo and duo run Babies (2-5), Dinkies (6-9), Tinies (10-12), Juniors (13-15) and Seniors (16+). Twirling team sections use the team's average age. Dancers may compete in an older group where appropriate, but never a younger one.

Troupe leaders enter their dancers from the Competitions tab of the troupe dashboard. Parents and dancers cannot enter directly, so speak to your troupe leader.

Entry fees are set by the rule book: £15 for a team entry, £5 for a solo and £7 for a duo, per event and per entry.

The closing date is shown on this page and in the troupe dashboard. After it passes, no additions or changes can be made except in exceptional circumstances.

Filming and photography are permitted, but each troupe must designate one person for it. They are given a lanyard so officials can identify them easily. This keeps dancers, supporters and officials safe.
