Auditions for the first Team UK squad will be held on Sunday 1 November 2026 at The Edge, University of Leeds. This is the first national selection since the Royal Twirling Association became the United Kingdom's official Majorette World Federation member.

Who can register

Registration is open to dancers competing with RTA-affiliated troupes. There is no qualifying score to reach beforehand and no closed shortlist: any eligible dancer can register their interest. If you are unsure whether your troupe is affiliated, your troupe leader can confirm it.

  • Sunday 1 November 2026, 9.00am to 5.00pm
  • The Edge, University of Leeds, West Yorkshire
  • Open to dancers from RTA-affiliated troupes
  • Free to register interest

How selection works

Registering interest is the first step, not the last. Registrations are reviewed by the RTA, and dancers are then invited to audition on the day. Invitations are issued from the pool of registered dancers, so registering is what puts you in contention.

Invitations have already begun going out to early registrants. Registration remains open, and dancers who register now are still considered.

Preparing for the day

Invited dancers should come ready to perform in full competition attire and allow time for registration and warm-up. Format, timings and what to prepare are confirmed directly to invited dancers rather than published in advance.

The RTA season gives plenty of opportunity to build competitive experience first: the Regional Championships take place on 6 September in Bradford, and the National Championships on 25 October at the Barnsley Metrodome.

Register your interest through the Team UK auditions page. Registration is free, and invitations to audition are issued to registered dancers ahead of the day.
