Troupe Affiliation Agreement

Last updated 8 July 2026Owner: RTA BoardNext review July 2027

Purpose

This agreement sets out what RTA and an affiliated troupe each commit to, so the troupe's dancers can enter RTA-affiliated competitions across our 8 disciplines.

In this agreement, "RTA" means RTA Twirling & Events Ltd (trading as Royal Twirling Association), a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17174281), whose registered office is at 128 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX. The agreement is between that company and the affiliating troupe, represented by its troupe leader.

Affiliation fee

Troupe leaders pay £5 per dancer, per year, in bulk on behalf of their troupe. Individual dancers and parents do not pay RTA directly.

Troupe's responsibilities

• Ensure coaches working with dancers hold an appropriate DBS check.

• Follow the RTA rule book, Code of Conduct, and Safeguarding Policy.

• Collect and remit dancer entry fees and affiliation fees to RTA on time.

• Keep dancer details (name, date of birth) accurate for age-category eligibility.

RTA's responsibilities

• Provide access to RTA-affiliated competitions, including the Royal Grand Open.

• Maintain the rule book and disciplines fairly and consistently.

• Handle safeguarding concerns promptly and confidentially.

Duration & renewal

Affiliation runs for one year and renews annually alongside the £5 per dancer fee.

Termination

Either party may end this agreement in writing. RTA may suspend or end an affiliation for a serious breach of the Code of Conduct or Safeguarding Policy.
